Beers
The centrepiece of Oktoberfest is undoubtedly the beer, we have picked some great classic Munich based breweries to feature for the week. Interestingly only six Munich-based breweries are allowed to serve beer at the actual festival, adhering to the strict German Beer Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot). We have picked six of our favourites beers:
Augustiner Oktoberfestbier - Augustiner is Munich’s oldest independent brewery. Brewed in wooden barrels giving this lager with it’s famous sweet taste 6.75
Lowenbrau Oktoberfest - Popular Wies'n (a colloquial word for 'fairgrounds') specialty from Munich. Delicious, spicy and based on the old Bavarian brewing tradition 6.75
Spaten Oktoberfest - Spring brewed beer in time for the world's largest folk festival each year, an unmistakable taste 6.25
Flotzinger Weis'n Märzen - Specially brewed for the Rosenheimer Herbstfest. Traditionally made with a mildly malty aroma 6.25
Giesinger Festbier - Brewed with Munich water, barley malt, hops and Munich air 6.95
Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest - Smooth, caramel flavours 6.50
