December has arrived and Christmas is in the air! Yes things will be a little different this year but we still want to bring Christmas to the Glengower in the best way that we can. Christmas is still going to be a time to relax, have fun and catch up with friends and family, just on a slightly smaller scale. So why not do all of this over a delicious meal? The Glengower as always will have its Christmas sparkle in the atmosphere!
Under current guidance we are able to take Christmas bookings up to 4 people from multiple households (or unlimited people from one household) however should things change before Christmas then we will happily amend your booking. Best thing is to drop us email on email@example.com or give us a ring on 01970 626 191 and we’ll do our very best to try and accommodate you during the festivities…please note the festive menu can’t be booked online.
All being well our Christmas menu will run from Friday 27th November to Wednesday 30th December 2020 (excluding Christmas Day) alongside our normal menu.
Our creative chefs have put together a delicious 3 course Christmas menu that combines all things traditional along with some new and original dishes.
Roast sweet potato soup served with a warm bread roll (dfo, vgo)
Venison liver and chilli liver paté served with toasted ciabatta & red onion chutney
Traditional prawn cocktail with Marie Rose sauce served with buttered granary bread
Panko breaded halloumi strips with rocket, pomegranate & walnut salad and sweet chilli dipping sauce
Butter roast crown of turkey served with cranberry sauce, sage & onion stuffing, rosemary infused pigs in blankets & roasting pan gravy (gfo)
Rolled thyme & apricot infused belly pork served with spiced apple chutney, crackling & pan gravy (gfo)
Parcel of Mediterranean vegetables with spiced cous cous and tomato and herb sauce (v)
Pan fried sea bass crushed new potatoes and spinach with grilled asparagus and salsa verde
All served with lemon & sage roast potatoes, honey glazed parsnips, festive buttered greens & glazed aniseed carrots
Traditional luxury Christmas pudding served with homemade brandy sauce
Festive Eaton mess whipped double cream & crushed meringue laced with mixed berries & mulled wine (gf)
Warm chocolate brownie served with vanilla mascarpone and orange syrup
Orange and cinnamon cheesecake with vanilla ice cream

Booking is required when dining from our Christmas menu. Christmas bookings must be made by telephone or in person only, they cannot be booked through our online system. Please call 01970 626 191 to check availability and book your table.
Maximum party size – At Christmas we appreciate that many of our bookings are usually large festive parties with friends, colleagues and families getting together to celebrate the season however this year we are sadly having to cap our Christmas bookings to 4 people from mixed households (excludes children under 11) or unlimited people from one household unless rules change.
Preorder – This is required no less than 7 days before your dining date. Please return the pre-order form to firstname.lastname@example.org or pop it into the pub.
Deposit – A deposit of £10 per head is required at the point of booking.
